How many times can an Opposition Leader say the words “big, bold visionary plan”?
And how many times can a Premier inject border controls into the conversation?
For much of the people’s forum leadership debate in the lead-up to Queensland’s election this weekend, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington stuck to the slogans and talking points they have been repeating ad nauseam for weeks.
But seeing them together for the first time this campaign did serve at least one purpose.
It highlighted the leaders’ contrasting styles, providing an insight into how both parties are travelling so late in the campaign.
