Man charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Brisbane

A 42-year-old man has been charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Fortitude Valley last month.
Police believe the man was walking on Harcourt Street between Brunswick and James streets about 2.20pm on Tuesday, October 27, when he allegedly pushed the woman, walking in the opposite direction, up against a tree and assaulted her.
The man was identified and arrested on Thursday following a public appeal for information.
The 42-year-old Redbank Plains man has been charged with sexual assault and unlawful stalking.
He was denied police bail and is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
