Votes cast in final hours of Queensland election as COVID-19 continues to frame future plans

Voters are heading to the polls across Queensland, as the major party leaders make last-minute pitches in what has been a marathon race to the state election ballot box.
After nearly two weeks of operation and with extended hours, polling booths opened their doors at 8:00am for the final time today as the remainder of Queenslanders cast their votes.
Queensland’s Electoral Commissioner Pat Vidgen told ABC Radio Brisbane more than 2 million people had voted early or filled out a postal vote.
