Queensland second only to Tassie for smallest fall in domestic tourists

Queensland Tourism Industry Council chief executive Daniel Gschwind said Queensland was renowned as a great holiday destination.

“We have seen a lot of people turn to their own backyard and explore their own state, but let’s not forget the struggle Queensland businesses and operators had during the difficult period in March,” he said.

“We have managed to increase intrastate travel, but we also fared better than other states because of what we’ve achieved in Queensland by listening to health authorities and its [COVID-19] management.

“This has boosted confidence to travel here.”
