Strength in regional rental markets offset decline in capital city rents as national rental decline eases over September quarter

The decline in national rental values eased over the September quarter, down -0.2% from -0.5% over the June quarter.
The improvement in the rate of decline of the broad figures can be attributed to a rise in regional market rents. Regional dwelling rental rates rose by 1.2% over the third quarter of 2020, after a lower 0.2% rise over the June quarter.
