Labor claim final Queensland seats from LNP in tight races

Queensland Labor have claimed victory in the final two seats up for grabs in the wake of October’s state election, despite thin margins in both already sparking at least one recount.
The party took to social media congratulating their candidates for Bundaberg and Sunshine Coast-based Nicklin on Wednesday night, the two LNP-held seats which had remained on a knife-edge throughout the week.
With Labor well-placed after election day to see its majority grow in Parliament a win in both electorates would deliver them 52 of 93 seats – five of which had been held by the Opposition heading into the vote.
