A woman of many firsts!

In the 40th year anniversary of women in surf lifesaving, there's no #throwback more worthy than the achievements of Kerri Thomas!

Kerri joined Nippers in the first year it became available to women, she won the first IronWoman title when it transitioned to include board, swim and ski and she became the first female to be named captain of a regional team on the Sunshine Coast!

In her recent feature on Surf Life Saving Australia Surf Studio, Kerri reflects upon a few of her many achievements as a trailblazer for women in surf lifesaving, saying "I remember when you got to under 10… If you were going to make a team you had to race against the boys. I made that first team, I was only ten at time."
