Googles payments to Apple to advertise its search engine for iPhones, iPads and Mac computers are at the center of the Justice Departments antitrust lawsuit against the tech giant. The lawsuit alleges that this creates a continuous and self-reinforcing cycle of monopoly by restricting which search engines consumers can use.
But as someone who deals with platform markets, competition, and industry structure, the deal seems more like a damn indictment of Apples potentially illegal business practices….
