Virus Jab may not be suitable for the elderly
Older Australians may not be able to get a coronavirus vaccine if the medicine has not been tested in such an age group. Health Department secretary Brendan Murphy said elderly Australians were the most vulnerable and would give priority to getting a vaccine. Most vaccines, however, have not been tested in those over 65, and it is very likely that initial registrations of some vaccines will preclude use in those over 65, said Dr. Murphy at a Senate hearing on Tuesday.
