Common symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are cough, fever, fatigue, and loss of smell. Many COVID-19 patients also have gastrointestinal symptoms. This correlates with the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection of the intestinal epithelium in the COVID-19 patients.
