Did you know that we have mapped 1.4 million kilometres of waterways in Queensland?
Fish passage within waterways is vital for our native fish species to reproduce, feed and complete their life cycles. Development within Queensland waterways is regulated to minimise impacts to fish stocks that could otherwise be caused by limiting fish passage.
You can check out the mapping layer on QldGlobe: https://qldglobe.information.qld.gov.au/
We are protecting fish passage through legislation. World Fish Migration Day is 24 October 2020. Check out how the rest of the world manages fish passage @worldfishmigrationday.
