Melbournes beloved music venue, Festival Hall, has been purchased by the evangelical Christian church Hillsong.
The concert hall, which has hosted world-famous acts including the Beatles and Frank Sinatra, and more recently Lorde and Ed Sheeran, has been up for sale for more than three years.
During one of Hillsongs virtual church services on Sunday, senior pastor Brian Houston announced it had purchased the property under a new commercial entity, Community Venues.
