A Birmingham hospital consultant has warned patient lives are at risk because of a rocketing operations and treatment backlog – with some forced to wait more than a YEAR.
And Shabi Ahmad has revealed how cancer sufferers may be going undiagnosed for crucial months because of the reduced medical services caused by the Covid-19 crisis.
The consultant surgeon, who works in urology for Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, says the UK could now be facing the longest operations waiting list since 1997….
