ASIC chairman James Shipton stepped aside pending the review.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is now awaiting an independent review, due in December, into the the remuneration and procurement practices of the corporate regulator, and is expected to consider a broader overhaul of ASIC’s leadership model.
