Researchers have long established that the binding of coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) with severe acute respiratory syndrome to the hosts angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is essential for the virus to enter the host cell and infect it. A new study published in the prestigious journal science In October 2020, the potential therapeutic value of the hosts second type of transmembrane receptor, called Neuropilins, will be reported, which binds to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and can improve its infectivity….
