Public Shark Report: QLD – NORTH WEST ISLAND. 17:30, 08 Jan 20, Bite, A young girl has sustained leg injuries in a suspected shark bite off the central Queensland coast this evening.
The girl was swimming in the Coral Sea around North West Island off Yeppoon when she received the leg laceration about 5.30pm.
Emergency crews, including a rescue helicopter and Volunteer Marine Rescue, were on their way to attend to the child.
