Doomsday machine-like explosion booming from the sun | Science |…
A large amount of plasma and magnetism from the Sun has been detected in satellite data. The explosion is known as coronal mass ejection (CME) and occurs when the magnetism on the surface of the star in the center of our solar system becomes unstable. The CME was discovered by NASAs Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft. Some claim the ejection looks like Star Treks Doomsday Machine.
