Public Shark Report: QLD – GREAT BARRIER REEF. 12:20, 25 Oct 20, Bite, A man is fighting for his life after he was bitten by a shark at the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland.
The man had been at the Britomart Reef, off the coast off Lucinda, 120km north of Townsville when he was bitten on the upper leg and is now at Townsville Hospital in a critical condition.
A rescue helicopter was called to the about 12.22pm.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the rescue helicopter and paramedics met the man at the Dungeness boat ramp where he was worked on before being airlifted in a critical condition.
