Earlier today, QGAir Brisbane Helicopter, Rescue 500, was tasked by Brisbane Water Police to assist in a rescue of a post drowning patient from an upturned vessel. The boat had capsized while crossing the South Passage Bar.
Luckily, a passing vessel came to the assistance of the two occupants that ended up in the ocean.
Our Rescue Crewman and Flight Paramedic were winched down from Rescue 500 onto the Coast Guard Vessel, so they could treat the injured female.
The female was winched in a stretcher from the vessel into the aircraft and flown to the PA Hospital.
Thanks to Water Police and Coast Guard vessels for their outstanding assistance in the stretcher winch recovery and for transporting our medical crew, to and from the recovery vessel.
