Memories came flooding back as I watched the enjoyable, if predictable, biopic of the Australian superstar, ‘I Am Woman’. But its feminist rhetoric jarred me.
It confirmed me as a devoted fan of Helen Reddy. Which is how I ended up in a local radio competition the following year, standing on a rickety metal stairwell belting out Reddys Delta Dawn at The Newcastle Show. I got runner-up; my prize, a new product known as Cheezels.
