The chair of Australia’s corporate watchdog ASIC will step aside after it was revealed the organisation paid more than $118,000 for him to receive personal tax advice.
James Shipton has agreed to repay the money for the advice, which he received after he relocated to Australia from the United States to head up ASIC in 2018.
