Coca-Cola Amatil tests investor interest in Asahi buy – The Australian Financial Review
Drinks bigwig Coca-Cola Amatil is shoring up its acquisition funding war chest as Asahi’s carve-out auction draws to a close.
Asahi has had investment bank Rothschild run an auction – and final offers were received more than one week ago.
Coca-Cola Amatil is understood to be up against global brewer Heineken for local rights to beer brands Stella Artois and Beck’s and ciders Strongbow, Bonamys and Little Green.
The group already has a beer and cider business with brands including Coors, Millers and Magners, however its portfolio was before CUB’s then owner Foster’s Group was snapped up by SAB Miller in 2011. That deal…
