You might have a new organ lurking in the middle of your head – and you would never know you needed it.

A team of doctors from the Netherlands believes it has stumbled upon a previously undiscovered organ in the human skull.
High-resolution brain scans unveiled a fourth pair of salivary glands in the human skull, the researchers said.
They glands are tucked away at the top of the throat and, if the discovery is confirmed, it would mark the first pair of new salivary glands in about 300 years.
