Australian Idol to be revived; MKR, House Rules dumped in Seven shakeup – Sydney Morning Herald
Cooking show Plate of Origin won’t return either as the broadcaster focuses on ‘proven’ formats made by external production companies.
On Wednesday, Seven unveiled its 2021 programming schedule at its annual upfronts presentation for advertisers.
In a surprise twist, Seven revealed it planned to revive Australian Idol in early 2022. The singing competition, which helped launch the careers of Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll, Casey Donovan and Anthony Callea, last aired on Network Ten in 2009.
