New results from a once-promising therapy show the difficulty of treating covid-19 – The Washington Post
The drug, tocilizumab, showed early potential but evidence since then has been conflicting.

But those observations were limited by tiny sizes. One of the first studies to highlight tocilizumabs potential, conducted in February, included only 21 patients. Those results have not been broadly replicated a testament to the difficulty of gauging a treatments effectiveness on the fly when presented with diverse patients at different stages of illness.
