Sir Patrick Vallance said that even with a vaccine Covid-19 will likely become endemic and pose a similar threat to seasonal flu.

A coronavirus vaccine is “unlikely” to wipe out the deadly bug, a UK science chief has admitted.
However, Sir Patrick Vallance said that in years to come an effective vaccine should mean that Covid-19 could be viewed more like seasonal flu.
He made the comments as he was giving evidence to the joint Commons and Lords National Security Strategy Committee.
