Apple launches HomePod mini, its smallest smart speaker – StereoNET Australia

Almost buried amidst all the iPhone 12 announcements, Apple also announced a second model of HomePod, Apple’s name for its smart speaker. The HomePod mini brings, in addition to its diminutive size, quite a few new features. The original HomePod – it seems unchanged since it was launched in 2018 – is vaguely cylindrical and stands 172mm tall. The HomePod mini is only 84.3mm tall and vaguely spherical, with a flattened top and bottom. The original weighs a hefty 2.5kg; the mini is just 345 grams….
