An embarrassing line in an email from Andrew Demetriou to James Packer went to the heart of questions about the board’s independence.
Demetriou insisted strenuously and repeatedly that he hadnt read the phrase and disagreed with Aspinalls suggestion that he was trying to give the impression he had an easy familiarity with corporate governance principles to make himself look better in front of the inquiry.
