The black hole M87 * famously photographed by astronomers last year appears to be wobbling, a new study claims.
As it rotates, ‘turbulence’ turns into the flow of matter sucked into the dark central void, over time the brightest spot of the surrounding orange ring, creating the illusion that it wobbles or ‘shimmers’.
M87 * is located in the galaxy Messier 87, 54 million light years from Earth, in the constellation of Virgo.
