Longer season, revised quarter-length ‘part of the conversation’ for 2021 AFL season – Fox Sports
AFL Players’ Association CEO Paul Marsh is open to a season in excess of the traditional 22 rounds next year, as the game seeks to recoup finances after a devastating year for the code.

With the AFL and AFLPA recently agreeing on return to training dates ahead of the 2021 season, focus has turned to what changes will be made to the seasons format, with some hoping for a return to relative normalcy in the number of rounds and length of quarters.
Speaking on Triple M on Saturday, Marsh was asked if he expected the league to revert to a 22-round season, which he answered by noting plenty of options were on the table.
