In the aftermath of the Rabbitohs’ record-breaking 60-8 win over the Roosters on Friday night, there were plenty of plaudits rightly headed the way of match-winner Cody Walker and five-try hero Alex Johnston.
But the unsung hero for the Bunnies was fullback Corey Allan; he not only vindicated his coach’s eyebrow-raising decision to overlook Johnston for the fullback role after Latrell Mitchell’s injury, he produced a memorable piece of sportsmanship for the very man he usurped for the role.
