Canberra Airport was filled with excited patrons on Friday, as Queensland’s border reopening by air saw Canberrans flock north to visit family and friends.
Dozens of excited Canberrans made their way to Canberra Airport on Friday, ready to board one of the six planes scheduled to fly into Queensland now its border has reopened.
It has been 48 days since Canberrans were permitted to travel to Queensland, after the state controversially closed their borders to hamper the spread of COVID-19.
But from Friday, ACT residents could travel to the state without having to undergo 14 days of hotel quarantine the only condition that they arrive by air.
