Google Maps is adding data about COVID-19 cases, allowing users to make informed decisions about coronavirus risk in daily activities.
The new COVID Layer, rolling out to Android and iOS users around the world this week, will show Maps users a seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people in the area viewed, as well as a label indicating whether cases are trending up or down, and colour coding for case density.
