Williams confirms he wants to be a Blue – The Age
Departing GWS star Zac Williams is set to become a Carlton player, with his management notifying rival clubs of his decision. Carlton has also re-signed a number of veterans including former skipper Marc Murphy.

Sources familiar with the negotiations confirmed with The Age that Carlton’s offer to Williams per season was worth significantly more than North Melbourne’s.
Because Williams is a restricted free agent, the Giants can match Carlton’s offer. But given the precarious nature of their salary cap, the club will let him leave and will receive a first-round draft pick as compensation.
