Nine Netball commentator Sue Gaudion has implored the sport to become a leader on Indigenous issues after Sunday’s Jemma Mi Mi controversy.
Mi Mi did not play a single minute of Super Netball’s Indigenous round, despite being the league’s only Indigenous player.
Her Queensland Firebirds coach, Roselee Jencke, tried to sub in Mi Mi for the final minute of a 64-58 win over Melbourne Vixens but she never got on the court. Lara Dunkley has been preferred recently as the Firebirds’ wing attack.
