Cameron Smith might be the only man on Earth to get away with poking an angry Craig Bellamy before his coach responded with a gesture that needed no words.
In any case, they seemed lucky to escape Bellamy’s wrath, who was steaming in the coaches box as his side began to lose shape, miss tackles and throw loose passes. When halfback Jahrome Hughes flung a long ball over the sideline, Bellamy looked like he was considering calling an airstrike.
“We thought we were the Harlem Globetrotters. That’s not in our playbook. We need to play to our system,” Bellamy said.
