Astronomers confirm pair of space rocks just skimmed past Earth – ClickLancashire
Over the next two months, many more objects are expected to pass by the planet, although only one near our planet will find it.
The first asteroid, called 2020 RD4, was between three and seven meters wide. But despite the rarity of the event, neither astroid posed a threat to the blue planet.
And although this may seem a huge distance, this represents a mere quarter of the way between the Earth and the Moon – which measures 239,000 miles (385,000km).
