AFL high-flyer Shaun Smith has won a concussion damages payout after suffering brain injuries while playing football.

Smith has received a $1.4 million concussion damages payout, as revealed by the Herald Sun, after he was knocked out multiple times during his career with Melbourne and North Melbourne.
The 51-year-old was reportedly paid the money on Thursday after his insurance company, MLC, recognised he had suffered a total and permanent disablement (TPD) after the head knocks.
