Nintendo 3DS discontinued, ending nine-year run – Polygon
Nintendo confirmed on Sept. 17, 2020 that the manufacture of its its 3DS line of handhelds had come to an end, after almost 10 years on shelves.

Nintendo has formally discontinued its 3DS handheld gaming platform.
Word spread early Thursday, with Twitter users in Japan noticing the remaining 3DS models on Nintendos Japanese-language website listed as out of production. A Nintendo spokesperson confirmed the end of the 3DS in a statement to Polygon:
