Leading jockey booked for overseas-trained runner
Damian Lane will attempt to win consecutive Cox Plates aboard an overseas-trained horse after committing to ride Aspetar in next month’s $5 million feature.
Lane’s engagement aboard Aspetar was confirmed with the imminent arrival of trainer Roger Charlton’s stable worker into Sydney, which ensures the Northern Hemisphere five-year-old gelding will enter quarantine at Newmarket in England on Wednesday.
