The CEO of Qatar Airways says Canberra should be prepared to offer Qantas financial support if the COVID-19 pandemic continues to keep borders closed.
Qantas has raised billions of dollars in funding during the coronavirus pandemic to strengthen its balance sheet and withstand the pandemic. While there is no suggestion the airline has sought assistance, earnings statements show it netted $15 million in support by operating domestic and international mercy flights at the government’s request.
