I was surprised to note in the RBA Governors Statement following the September Board Meeting that The Board will maintain highly accommodative settings as long as is required and continues to consider how further monetary measures could support recovery”.
This is the first time since the major policy changes in March that the Board has noted the possibility of further monetary measures.
That could mean even more easing of the current policy stance or a new approach to policy easing.
