Queensland Health has apologised to a patient who was advised by a registered nurse to masturbate in the shower to alleviate severe pain.
The patient was suffering abdominal pain after recent surgery when she called 13 HEALTH, the state governments 24/7 hotline for over-the-phone health advice.
An investigation into the nurses conduct is underway.
