Queensland a mini Hollywood for all but the little guys – Brisbane Times
Indie and low-budget filmmakers are struggling to get their projects off the ground as the state government focuses on attracting big productions.

“The councils Film Attraction Program, while an excellent initiative, is not necessarily designed to support lower-budget Gold Coast-originated projects,” he said.
The program offers financial assistance for productions with budgets of at least $1.5 million.
“Underbelly” actor Izzy Stevens on set in Los Angeles while filming during the pandemic for the Queensland film “Him”.
“We recommend the $1.5 million threshold be lowered to support local low-budget and indie production,” Dr Ryan said.
