Rugby league player Joel Dark has died five days after an on-field accident in his first-grade debut.

NSW Rugby League confirmed on Friday afternoon that Dark the cousin of Australia and Roosters captain Boyd Cordner had passed away earlier in the day.
On Sunday the teenager suffered a head injury during his first grade debut for Newcastle Central.
The Newcastle Heraldreports that Dark was presented with his playing jersey by his dad on Fathers Day before he took to the field.
