The number of new coronavirus cases in the UK have soared by 3,539 – the highest rise for four months.
Today’s figures bring the total number of Covid-19 infections reported to 361,677.
Public Health England have said most of the new cases are people tested in the community and younger people – however they have warned “worrying signs of infections occurring in the elderly.”
