The son of one of Australia’s most celebrated potters says his father fell into ceramics almost by accident.

Damon Moon saw an irony in the fact that his father, respected Australian potter Milton Moon, was cremated last year.
“I found myself thinking, well this is actually appropriate really because he’s a potter and he’s just going to the kiln,” Moon said.
“And then I was in the crematorium, and I don’t know if they thought it was weird but I kept on asking technical questions of them like: What temperature is the kiln? What’s the rate of fire?”
