Hooker dropped, surgery for Heppell – The Age
Essendon have dropped veteran Cale Hooker for Saturday night’s date with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Captain Dyson Heppell and Michael Hurley are also set to miss.

Hooker, who turns 32 next month, played his 200th game against West Coast in round 15. The 2014 All-Australian has been swung from end to end in recent years and remains contracted for 2021.
Meanwhile, untested rookie ruckman Henry Crauford has left the club’s hub and returned to South Australia as he deals with a back issue.
The Power have regained Peter Ladhams from suspension with Brad Ebert and Riley Bonner also included. Zak Butters is out through suspension, Ryan Burton has a quad injury…
