Bedside MRI Feasible in ICU, for COVID-19 – MedPage Today
Study showed abnormalities found without any complications from the device
A bedside low-field MRI scanner proved its mettle in Yale New Haven Hospital’s ICU, including for COVID-19 patients, clinicians there reported.
Among 50 patients scanned in their ICU, the Hyperfine’s Swoop portable MRI system identified neuroimaging abnormalities for eight of the 20 on ventilation for COVID-19 (40%) and 29 of the 30 without COVID-19 (97%).
