Boyd Cordner’s cousin, 21, fights for life after ‘horrible’ accident – Sydney Morning Herald
President of the Central Newcastle rugby league club Heath Anderson says a teammate performed CPR on Joel Dark after a nasty head knock.
Anderson described as “horrible” the scene, which played out in front of spectators, including children. The club has organised a counselling session at Central Leagues Club on Monday night.
“We had an incident a couple of years ago, a player similar to Joel in a fairly serious predicament in hospital after an incident,” Anderson said.
“We had players in tears because it was out on the field. The other team who they played is quite distraught.”
